Musculoskeletal Radiology
Musculoskeletal imaging is used to help in the diagnosis of arthritis (degenerative or inflammatory), ligament and tendon injury, infection of the bone and joint, as well as evaluation for extremity neoplasm (cancer). Commonly used methods of imaging include x-ray, MRI, CT, and ultrasound. Specialists in this field can perform joint injections/aspirations and also biopsies of masses in the extremity areas.

Shane K. Ball, M.D.graduated from Loma Linda School of Medicine, Loma
Linda, CA. He completed an internship at the Veterans
Administration in Boise through the University of Washington
School of Medicine. He then returned to Loma Linda School
of Medicine for residency. He performed his fellowship in
body and musculoskeletal imaging at Stanford University
Medical Center. Dr. Ball specializes in body and musculoskeletal
MRI and CT. Dr. Ball joined Boise Radiology in
October, 2005. A Boise native, Dr. Ball enjoys a variety of
outdoor Treasure Valley activities. |

Michael A. Fuchs, M.D.graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine,
Indianapolis, IN. There, he also completed residency and
fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Fuchs
joined Boise Radiology Group in 2004 and specializes in
extremity MRI (primarily focusing on joints, ligaments and
tendons).
A Twin Falls native, Dr. Fuchs has always enjoyed the
outdoor activity Idaho offers. Today, whether it's casting for
rainbow trout along the Boise River, or pedaling the foothills
of the Boise front, Dr. Fuchs has always maintained an
appreciation for our body's ability for physical achievement.
As a member of the Boise Radiology team, he enthusiastically
embraces the opportunity to assist physicians in helping
patients along the road to recovery and increased activity. |

J. Andrew Hill, MDJoined Boise Radiology Group in July 2009. In 2003, Dr. Hill graduated from University of Washington School of Medicine where he subsequently completed a four year residency program in radiology. Residency training included rotations through the four University of Washington hospitals and numerous outpatient clinics, incorporating four months at Seattle Children’s Hospital. A fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging followed at the University of Wisconsin. In his spare time, Dr. Hill spends time with his family along with riding bikes, snowboarding and reading a good book.
