Neuroradiology

Neuroradiolgy generally refers to imaging of the head, neck, and spine. Common diagnoses include stroke, cancer, infection, inflammation, trauma, as well as age related degeneration of the spine. Radiologists in this field commonly use MRI and CT for diagnosis and interventional procedures are also performed for diagnosis and/or treatment including angiography, lumbar puncture, and needle injections.

Todd D. Burt, M.D.

graduated from University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, CO. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Utah Medical Center. He completed a neuroradiology fellowship from University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. Dr. Burt also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology. From 1981 to 1984, he worked as a diagnostic radiologist for the hospital at Luke Air Force base in Arizona. Dr. Burt joined Boise Radiology Group in 1985. Dr. Burt's outdoor pursuits include skiing and hiking.

Steve V. Marx, M.D.

graduated from University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA. He completed his residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center also in Seattle, but returned to his alma mater for a fellowship in neuroradiology. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology. Dr. Marx joined Boise Radiology Group in July, 2000. Dr. Marx enjoys skiing, biking and hiking with his wife and four children.

Daniel D. Ririe, M.D.

graduated from University of Utah School of Medicine Salt Lake City, UT. He attended Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh for his transitional medical internship. The residency program he chose was with Oregon Health and Science University. His fellowship training in neuroradiology was also from Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Ririe joined Boise Radiology Group in August, 2005. In his free time, Dr Ririe likes to backpack and spend time with his family.

Adam Maxfield, M.D.

Dr. Adam Maxfield graduated from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Denver, CO. He completed a Transitional Year Internship at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah. His four-year residency in Diagnostic Radiology was conducted at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Additionally, Dr. Maxfield finished a one-year fellowship in Neuroradiolgy, also at the Mayo Clinic. Raised in Boulder, CO, Dr. Maxfield is married with four children and enjoys spending time with his family in a variety of extracurricular activities. Including; soccer, volleyball, golf, piano and more.

Tony Bell, M.D.

received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah, followed by a second residency in Diagnostic Radiology, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He remained in Salt Lake City for a two-year fellowship in Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology. Dr. Bell has held faculty appointments at Wake Forest University of Medicine, the University of North Carolina, and the Medical University of South Carolina. His clinical interests include endovascular coiling of aneurysms, carotid stenting, and acute stroke intervention. Dr. Bell’s recreational interests include climbing and mountain biking.
Tony Bell, M.D.

Nicholas A. Lazzaro, M.D.

is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He fulfilled a Transitional Internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. He also completed his four year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Oakwood Hospital. Dr. Lazzaro finished a two-year fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. His works have been published in Clinical Nuclear Medicine as well as Endocrine medical journals and American Journal of Neuroradiology. Dr. Lazzaro enjoys spending time with his wife and family as well as many outdoor activities including hiking with the family dog.
